1. Overview and acceptance
These terms cover (a) use of the dhaedalida.com website, (b) the license for the free Dhaedalida demo, and (c) how Dhaedalida licenses are purchased. Your contracting partner is Francisco Javier López de Haro, doing business as Dhaedalida Software, established in the Czech Republic, contactable at info@dhaedalida.com. By using the site, and by downloading or using the demo, you accept these terms. Purchased editions are additionally governed by the license terms confirmed during the order process. For purchases made through the online checkout, Paddle acts as merchant of record as described in section 7.
2. Using this website
You may browse and use the site for its ordinary informational purpose. You must not scrape the site at scale, abuse the contact form or the download endpoint, or attempt to disrupt the service. The site's content is protected as described in the Legal Notice; the demo download is subject to the license below.
3. Demo license
We grant you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and run the Dhaedalida demo solely to evaluate Dhaedalida on software you own or are authorized to protect. Evaluation expressly includes protecting your real binaries and testing them internally, including with your own team and testers.
The demo is feature-limited, not time-limited: it never expires and needs no account or license file, but it includes only core VM virtualization (not the packer, string encryption or anti-analysis features of the paid editions), and binaries protected with it show a short demo notice at startup. Distributing demo-protected binaries in production or commercially requires a purchased license.
4. Demo restrictions
You must not:
- redistribute, rehost or sell the demo package (please point others to dhaedalida.com/download instead);
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble Dhaedalida itself, or attempt to bypass its limitations, except to the extent such a restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
- remove or circumvent the demo startup notice in protected output;
- ship demo-protected binaries to end users (see section 3).
5. Acceptable use
Dhaedalida (demo and paid editions alike) is a tool for software authors to protect software they own or are authorized to protect. You must not use it to protect, obfuscate or conceal malware or any unlawful software, or to impede the lawful analysis of such software. We may refuse or terminate licenses over misuse. If you suspect a Dhaedalida-protected file is being used to conceal malicious software, report it to info@dhaedalida.com.
6. Your software stays yours
You keep all rights to your software, before and after protection; we claim no ownership of or rights over your protected output. Protected binaries embed Dhaedalida runtime components (the virtual machine and loader). Under a purchased license those components are licensed for distribution as part of your product; under the demo they are licensed for evaluation only.
7. Purchasing
Purchases on this site are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record: the Buy buttons on the pricing page open Paddle's secure checkout, and your purchase contract for the payment is with Paddle, which handles payment processing, calculates and adds any applicable VAT or sales tax, and issues the receipt and invoice. Where online checkout is unavailable, orders can also be arranged by email through the contact page. Prices are listed in euros on the pricing page and exclude applicable taxes. The license itself is delivered by us by email within 24 hours of payment. Every purchase includes 12 months of updates; licenses keep working after that, and updates can be extended at the renewal prices shown. Renewals are currently arranged by email. The Ultimate edition is not yet released and cannot be purchased.
8. Update checks in the software
The licensed application can check whether a newer build is available. When it does, it contacts dhaedalida.com and sends only a one-way hash of the email address your license is registered to, together with the version number you are running. We use them solely to work out whether a newer build exists and whether your 12 months of updates cover it. Your license file never leaves your machine, and we receive no machine or hardware identifier. What we do and do not record is set out in our privacy policy.
The check is a convenience, not a condition of use. You can turn it off in the software, and the software works exactly the same whether the check is enabled, disabled or unable to reach us: it is never used to verify, enforce or disable your license, and it cannot stop the software from running. Once your update period ends, the check simply reports that a newer version exists without offering it, and everything you already have keeps working as described in section 7.
9. Refunds and EU consumer right of withdrawal
Refund requests are handled through Paddle as merchant of record: reply to your Paddle receipt, or contact us and we will coordinate with Paddle. If you buy as a consumer in the EU, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal from distance contracts. Because a license is digital content delivered by email, we deliver within those 14 days only after you expressly consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal; this consent is collected during the order process. Until delivery, you can withdraw simply by emailing us. This section does not apply to business purchases. Your statutory rights regarding defective digital content remain unaffected.
Independently of the statutory right above, every license purchase is currently covered by a voluntary 14-day money-back guarantee: contact billing@dhaedalida.com within 14 days of purchase and we will arrange a full refund through Paddle, no questions asked. This guarantee applies to consumer and business purchases alike, is a voluntary commercial promise that may be withdrawn for future purchases at any time, and does not limit any statutory right you have.
10. No protection is unbreakable
Software protection raises the cost, time and skill needed to attack a program. No protection technology can prevent all reverse engineering, cracking or tampering, and we do not promise that binaries protected with Dhaedalida cannot be compromised. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses caused by third parties circumventing protection. We also cannot warrant how third-party security software (for example, antivirus or EDR products) will classify a protected binary.
11. Warranties and liability
The demo is provided free of charge and "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. For purchased licenses, unless mandatory law provides otherwise, our aggregate liability is capped at the price you paid for the license, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (such as liability for intentional wrongdoing or gross negligence) or affects the statutory rights of consumers.
12. Termination
The demo license ends automatically if you breach these terms, in particular the acceptable-use rules. On termination you must stop using the demo and stop using or distributing demo-protected output. The sections on intellectual property, liability and governing law survive termination.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version published on this page, with its "Last updated" date, governs your use of the site and demo from publication. Purchases are governed by the terms in effect when the order was confirmed.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic; the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. Disputes belong to the Czech courts, except that if you are a consumer you keep the protections and jurisdiction that the law of your country of residence mandatorily grants you. Consumers in the EU may also have access to out-of-court dispute resolution through their national consumer protection authorities.
15. Severability and contact
If any provision of these terms is invalid, the rest remains in force. Questions about these terms: info@dhaedalida.com.
